Why are the panel holes 2-1/16” in diameter when my gauge is only 2? |

2” gauges and 2-1/16” gauges are nominally the same diameter. The panel holes are actually 2-1/16” in diameter, and are designed to accept a 2” diameter gauge. If the gauge housing and the panel opening were the exact same size, the gauge would not fit. The extra 1/16” diameter of the panel opening provides a 1/32” gap all around the gauge. |
